Client: Private Individuals
Project: Period Family House
For years we have been designing individual pieces of furniture and lighting, and working with craftspeople, artisans and specialist manufacturers to produce them to the highest standard - as part of our interior design solutions for both our commercial clients and private individuals. In doing so we are always mindful of factors like a client’s personal style and taste, the parameters of a commercial client’s brand identity, the setting for each piece, and the overall colours and materials palette of our overall interior design.
For a couple with a family home in north London, as part of a refurbishment, we designed three individual pieces of furniture which reflect their home, their interests, and their family life. The first is a grand, statement-making dining table dressed with polished pewter and with a pair of distinctive floret style legs - the perfect accompaniment to the room’s ornate fireplace and large decorative mirror.
The second was a set of stepped cupboards in the children’s playroom; their capacity enabling their toys to be stored away and the room returned to tidiness. Each cupboard is fronted with a mirrored door to accentuate the natural light flooding in from the large windows.
The third is an ornate cupboard and display case surrounding a fireplace. Made of a rich assembly of woods and veneers the handles of the cupboard doors playfully acknowledge one of the couple’s passions for golf, being made in the style of leather-bound golf-club grips.
