Project: Buddha Bar Resort & Hotel Sahl Hasheesh
Buddha Bar is known the world over as a predominantly night-time experience for young people who like to combine dining, drinking and music with a certain vibe. Our brief was to create a resort with the same style and aesthetic as a Buddha Bar but make it relevant to a broader audience including families, residential guests and to the day as well as the night-time.
We used water as a theme uniting the different elements. First starting as a trickling fountain at the top of the resort, the water progresses in steadily increasing volume via a rill, waterfall and cascades until it reaches a seaside lagoon.
In particular, we had to create a resort with a range of suites and rooms, a generous lobby space, a choice of meal offerings (including indoor and outdoor dining), a beach club and a nightclub.
Throughout the resort we combined the contemporary with the classic; deeper, darker tones with lighter, fresher colour palettes; rich pattern languages with signature lighting features and soft furnishings, and luxury with elegance.
